Yup an actual face to face, sit down at the table and play Classic Traveller game. So if you are in the S.E. KS, S.W. MO, area -- or like to drive and in the N.E. OK, N.W. AR area, contact me about getting a chair at the game.

Looking for dependable and regular players.

Location is ARCADIA, KS (1.2 Hrs from Kansas City, 2 Hrs from Springfield, Mo, 3Hrs from Wichita, KS, 30 Mins from Pittsburg, KS and 40 Mins from Joplin, MO)

We will be playing Classic Traveller using mostly the rules from the LBB1-3 however we will be using Houserules for Character Creation and the Task System.

If you want to see what house rules we will be using, you can download them from the front page of this site (no membership required to download the files),

Did your honest to goodness face-2-face game ever get off the ground?

Or more to the point, how do I get you to run a face to face game here in California. Wink

Yup I was able to get a group together. We try to play a couple times a month although the holidays and a hospital stay interrupted the game. We are resuming play first of march after we finish our current play test for a new d20 sci-fi game. Then in April I am expanding the face to face games by starting up two a month Traveller game days at the local game store. Going to include Traveller as well as Power Projection and Striker. If there is interest (and since the owner is an old cardboard pushing grog like me) we are looking at playing AHL, Astroid, Mayday, FFW, etc. as well or at least making them available for play.

With MGT coming out (wont say what I think about it but hoping it is popular for a while) I am hoping to capitalize on it's release to get more regular Traveller players for the store games as well as additional home games - plus John (the store owner) will do anything to help try to bring back and spread the grog goodness of pushing said cardboard.

I think E. Gary Gygax said it best when getting requests like this.

"Lot's of money."

Actually if I ever went to CA for anything then I suppose something could be arranged. But since I haven't been there in 25 or so years and have no plans to travel there then I guess the odds are low.

The thing that I had to finally break down and admit to myself that no matter how much I hated running games that it is something that I was going to have to do until I could train up replacements. That is key to being able to have regular games and playing. That is why I always get a bit peeved with people that refuse to GM. I don't believe in bad GM's - just one's that were taught wrong to start with or those that are just lazy and don't care. At least the ones that are doing it wrong out of ignorance - if they are not lazy as well - can be shown better ways to run games and how to be more dynamic. Its just like most things ya know? You may be born with a gift but if you're not you can learn to do it just as well if not better than those with the gift - if you really want to.

Funny though as much as I hated running most games, I found that as much as i love to play, when it came to Traveller and Call of Cthulhu - I always have as much fun Reffing as i do playing - sometimes more!
